The Houston Critics Review:
by Trey Henderson

Fajita Flats is perhaps the most festive Mexican restaurant in town. Upon entry, patrons
are immediately greeted by an upbeat staff and asked for drink orders. A helpful hint is to
be wary of their strong margaritas.

The menu features the traditional Tex-Mex fare along with numerous seafood items.
Everything is good. My favorite is the Shrimp Diablo, which includes 6 jumbo grilled
shrimp wrapped in bacon with a jalapeno. The meal comes with freshly steamed broccoli
in a queso sauce. My wife likes the enchiladas. For lunch, I often get the Fajita Taco
Salad that seems to include a strip of beef or chicken in every bite. Another nice touch is
the complimentary spicy vegetable soup that is served before the meal.

Every time I have been at night there has been at least one birthday. The servers bring a
large Mexican hat and place it on the recipient while the birthday song is played. The
Fondren location hosts quite a few bachelorette parties and the male servers tease the
bachelorette in a playful fashion.
